South London to Siem Reap.

Hey all,

So a mate asked me the other day, ‘Your pics in Cambodia were so colourful and bright and now in London everything you take is dark and moody. Is that a reflection of how you are feeling?’

Good question.

London might be grey, monochromatic and moody but aside from £6 artisanal sourdough loaves, it is not that bad being back - I’m just not a fan of the weather.

Wood Green Station, nearly every day after school (mid 90s) we’d be hanging around here. Anyone remember Shekhana games? Let me know if you do..

Anyways, here are some things I’m sharing:

  • Layouts for our third #soibook featuring Peruvian-Swiss artist Tania Brun are nearly complete. Jump on the bandwagon and support the cause by getting your pre-orders in now. We also have Thai-American artist Chip7 and Hong Kong’s Xeme - all available now.

Cover Design Work In Progress

  • Stickerbomb World is slowly winding back up and our latest news is (drumroll please) we are back open to service clients.

A lovely gif by Belgian artist Jasper Van Gestel who’s been a long time Stickerbomb collaborator.

Sounds dodgy but this means we are taking briefs, producing animations, gifs, promos and stings once more. All made through our Stickerbomb World Creative Studio.

It will be a lot of fun getting this side of the business going again and working in tandem with book publishing. With hundreds of artists part of Stickerbomb World we really enjoy creating and collaborating with them so if you have a need for Stickerbomb graphics or you know someone who could do with our creative expertise, please share this newsletter.

Another Jasper Van Gestel Stickerbomb special

  • Had a few highlights over the last few weeks - all based around seeing friends who I hadn’t seen for a long time. One particular highlight was a visit to the National Gallery.

The National Gallery which recently published a report on its ties to the Atlantic Slave Trade - more info here.

I was reminded that Rembrandt was indeed a master of light and shadow. It was a good bit of inspiration as I love that dramatic light and moody setup.

Anna And The Blind Tobit, Oil On Oak, 1630.

That is it for February.

Thanks as ever for reading. If you enjoy please do share and go and have yourselves a great end of the month - you deserve it.

Cheers all!

xoxo
