#008 ⤑ Keep On Keepin’ On
Launching my new site, back to your face, match-fixing in the Premiership and books on sale.
Hey all,
February is upon us and after a Xmas/New Years Omicron hangover, my flux capacitors are charged and I’m happy to be back. So belated Happy New Year all. Hope everyone is keeping their heads up and here are some things I wanted to share on this last day of January 2022.
Apart from getting Covid at the end of 2021, I had a good end of year.
One of my pictures was selected to be part of the Edition 365 New Art show curated by the British Journal Of Photography. Very chuffed about it and it’s opened the door to a few gallery shows which I will be announcing over the coming months.
I have a new website - you can check it out here.
There’s a slow burn project I’m working on called ‘Back To Your Face’ where I am amassing portraits and imagery of people I’ve taken over the years. Head over and check it out as you might be in there.
Having directed a documentary on match fixing in Asian football (which you can see here) it was not much of a surprise to find out spot fixing might be alive and kicking in the UK. Arsenal player Granit Xhaka is suspected of engaging in illegal betting by intentionally getting himself a yellow card during a match. Reports have suggest £65k was placed on him during the game with other sources suggest at least $420k was placed in suspicious Bitcoin bets before the game. The Football Association are “looking into it” but have yet to open a formal investigation - will be interesting to see what and if anything happens.
Clip of the incident below.
We are now taking pre-orders for our range of art books. The first release is called ‘Kowloon Bustle’ (get it here) and features Hong Kong graffiti legend Xeme who was one of the first artists to tag using Chinese characters.
Our second release is Chip7Land (get it here) . Chip7 was a founding member of legendary graffiti crew Mayhem and being half Thai, he relocated to Bangkok in the late 00s to work on his techno-organic futuristic style.
That is it for this month. Thanks for having a read. If you enjoy, please share.
Cheers all xoxo
