Hi all,
I’ve been out of quarantine now for a few weeks and enjoying a weird sense of normality. The Premiership is on, l’m running into mates on the tube and already had a few trips to the pub. It’s a bit surreal and I wonder if this is just a glitch in the matrix - a temporary reprieve before restrictions return. 🤔
Who knows, but I’m definitely gonna milk it and get out there..
STUDIO VISITS
I work a lot with Tim Grabham aka Cinema Iloobia down in Brighton. I hadn’t been down for a long time so got that 52min train from Victoria.
We caught up, talked shop, walked the dog and rewatched a film we made together back in 2008 - Bassweight. It’s crusty, it’s old school, it’s about dubstep and we’re both still very happy with it - you can see it right here.
Also went to the end of the Metropolitan line to see another old friend who is a bit of a legend - Sunil Pawar. It was good catching up and hearing more tales from back in the day, what he is up to now and what we could cook up.
If you would like to read in more detail about studio visits and artist collaborations we have a new Stickerbomb newsletter here.
MORE DISTRACTION
I continue to be distracted by scanning and playing with imagery from the family archives.
Not 100% sure what to do with all of it - probably a mini photography book that strokes the ego but whatever it turns out to be, the process of raiding the lost archives continues to be massively therapeutic.
SODO EXPRESS UPDATE
And lots of good news for my film Sodo Express.
We are part of the Local Sightings Film Festival and feature on the ‘Colouring Beyond The Lines’, animated shorts section on the 23rd September, 7.30pm [Tickets Here].
Very proud to be part of Local Sightings Seattle. Back in 2018/2019, I lived right near the Local Sightings cinema and the entire area, Capitol Hill, is a place close to my heart.
To add, we’re also featuring as part of the Australia Independent Film Festival in Brisbane and the Paonia Film Festival in Colorado - dates and screenings times will be confirmed soon.
Alright that’s me again. Please do subscribe, share and all that good *ish.
